Emma Ramarge

About Me
I'm a trauma-trained counsellor based on the Somerset–Wiltshire border. I specialise in working with adults and older teenagers (15+) who have experienced trauma, including complex PTSD, attachment difficulties, and the lasting impact of adverse childhood experiences. My work is grounded in an understanding that trauma is held not only in our thoughts and emotions but also in the body and nervous system. Working integratively with a range of counselling approaches, I integrate Sensorimotor Psychotherapy®, Polyvagal Theory, attachment theory, and parts work to support clients in developing greater safety, regulation, and connection with themselves. I also have extensive training in autism, ADHD, AuDHD, OCD, ARFID, and sensory differences, and I work from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective. I have a particular interest in the overlap between trauma and neurodivergence, including masking, burnout, shutdown, and nervous system dysregulation. As both a therapist and a parent of neurodivergent children, I value creating a collaborative, compassionate, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship. I believe therapy should be tailored to the individual, respecting each person's pace, strengths, and unique experiences while supporting lasting healing and growth.
