Yasaman Keshavarz

About Me
As a trauma specialist and somatic psychotherapist, I integrate Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) with Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Ego State Therapy to support individuals in reconnecting with their bodies, emotions, and inner sense of safety. My approach is rooted in deep respect for the wisdom of the body and the innate capacity for healing that emerges when mind and body are gently brought back into dialogue. In my work, I pay close attention to how trauma lives in the nervous system - not just as symptoms, but as patterns of protection and survival. Through SP, I help clients build awareness of their physical sensations, impulses, and movements, allowing new, more adaptive experiences to emerge in the present moment. I often weave in Eastern elements of healing, including music and movement inspired by traditional dance, as pathways for embodied expression and release. These creative, culturally grounded practices offer clients a way to reclaim vitality, rhythm, and connection - especially those who have experienced displacement, chronic illness, or complex trauma. My practice serves individuals navigating PTSD, Complex PTSD, structural dissociation, medical trauma, chronic pain, and emotional dysregulation. I also specialize in working with professionals, refugees, immigrants, and global populations, honoring the intersection of cultural identity and the body’s healing process. My goal is to help clients move from surviving to truly inhabiting their lives.
